BIO
Aimee Welstead is a strategic communications and marketing leader with more than 25 years’ experience across technology, innovation, corporate, not-for-profit and university environments. She leads marketing and communications for UTS Rapido, the University of Technology Sydney’s industry-facing R&D innovation unit, supporting how advanced software, AI, UX and engineering capability is communicated to industry, government, community and UTS stakeholders.
Her work focuses on translating complex technical and research-driven initiatives into clear, credible communication that supports industry engagement, research translation and commercial collaboration with industry partners. She works closely with engineers, researchers and leadership teams to shape positioning, stakeholder communication, thought leadership and strategic engagement across sectors including manufacturing, health, defence, sustainability and digital technologies.
Aimee has extensive experience working across global and regional organisations, including roles with IBM in London and Ogilvy & Mather in New York, as well as senior communications and marketing roles across technology and purpose-led organisations in Australia. Her background spans B2B communications, technology marketing, brand development, executive communication, digital engagement and industry partnerships.
At UTS Rapido, she leads integrated communications across digital, media, events, case studies and industry engagement, helping connect UTS capability with real-world innovation challenges and opportunities.
