BIO

Dr. Aiswarya Pradeepkumar graduated with a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2020. Aiswarya currently works as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Integrated Nanosystems Lab in the School of Electrical, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering (SEMBE), Faculty of Engineering and IT, UTS. She has also been actively involved in teaching within SEMBE, tutoring laboratory sessions for Electronic Engineering subjects since 2020.

Aiswarya’s research focuses on epitaxial graphene on silicon wafers for integrated electronics applications. She has demonstrated large-scale electronic transport characteristics of epitaxial graphene on silicon wafers, enabling functional nanosystems with tunable electronic and optical properties. From 2019-2020, she was employed at UTS as a Postdoctoral researcher on a project from the Air Force Office for Scientific Research.

Aiswarya has secured the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) Early Career Researcher Grant (ECRG) for collaborating with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO). According to ANSTO, the project delivered the first high-temperature (1100 °C) in situ neutron reflectometry (NR) experiment of its type in Australia and potentially the highest-temperature neutron reflectometry experiment reported worldwide (https://www.ansto.gov.au/news/a-possible-world-record-studying-thin-films-under-extreme-temperatures-reflectometry). Aiswarya is also a co-inventor in a US Patent (2022) and a PCT filing.

Aiswarya has received several awards and recognitions, including being named a finalist in the Infrastructure Impact category of the 2026 Women of Colour in STEM Awards, the ARC TMOS Education Award (2023), Vice-Chancellor’s Postgraduate Research Students Conference Fund (2019), First Prize in the Faculty of Engineering and IT HDR Showcase (2019), Outstanding Higher Degree Research Student of the Year Award (2018), and International Academic Excellence Award, Griffith University (2013). During her Ph.D. Aiswarya also served as Chair of the School HDR Students Committee.
