BIO

I am a marine biologist/data analyst/eductor and Honorary Academic at UTS. My research looks at tropical fish moving into temperate waters, and how their behaviour, habitat use and swimming performance change as they grow. I use field surveys, experiments and otolith analysis to understand how these fish survive in environments outside their usual range.

I also work as a data analyst and have more than ten years of teaching experience. I hold a PhD in Marine Biology, an Honours degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a Master of Teaching.

I founded Fishers for Sanctuaries to help recreational fishers understand marine research and support conservation. As a recreational fisher, I am interested in how science can inform fishing practices and marine management.
