I led the establishment of the Discipline of Genetic Counselling and the Master of Genetic Counselling at UTS in Sydney. We used co-design principles and engagement with the profession, worked with innovative learning designers and other key stakeholders in the program design. We've now welcomed seven cohorts of students from all over Australasia to the program.

I'm the immediate past president of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia. I was only the second genetic counsellor to hold the position of President of the HGSA.

Prior to moving to UTS, I was a Senior Genetic Counsellor in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand. I’ve held leadership roles in the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors and the Human Genetics Society of Australasia, with a particular focus on the education and certification of genetic counsellors. During 2017-2018 I was an active member in the working group that drove the application for professional regulation for genetic counsellors in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

I have a particular interest in professional supervision and reflective practice, and completed a graduate certificate in 2016. I facilitate supervision training for the HGSA.
