As the Executive Manager, Research Stewardship, I am responsible for developing and implementing UTS's vision of a responsible research culture that is driven by research performed ethically and with integrity, and where we assess benefits and risk to make informed decisions about our research and our collaborations.

I have over ten years' experience in medical / celluar microbiology research in Australia, France and the UK, then pivoted to research professional roles, developing extensive experience delivering large-scale projects collaborating across and between institutions. For example I ran the University of Glasgow's REF2021 submission, and the UTS disclosure of interest process in 2024. 

The Research Stewardship Team in the Research Office contributes to building foundations of trust and credibility for research and its impact. We do this by providing coordinating and advice functions for conducting and managing research ethically, honestly, and conscientiously. The team remit covers research integrity, research ethics (human, animal and biosafety), research risk and security. We support researchers navigate legislation relevant to these areas. We manage the VC Ethics Committees, the Research Risk Committee, and the Disclosures of Interest Steering Committee.
