DrAnastasiia Zalogina

Anastasiia has a diverse background in photonics, having worked on various advanced projects at different institutions. Beginning her journey at the University of Southampton, she delved into the fabrication of perovskite solar cells, before continuing her research at Tomsk Polytechnic University focusing on OLEDs. Her passion for photonics led her to ITMO University, where she started a project on nanodiamonds with NV centres, developing nanoantennas and resonators to enhance photoluminescence properties.

She completed her PhD in nonlinear optics at the Australian National University, where she made important contributions to designing, fabricating, and optically testing metasurfaces and nanoantennas. Post-PhD, Anastasiia continued her research of advanced photonics at the University of Adelaide, specialising in beam shaping with orbital angular momentum optical elements.

Anastasiia got Chancellor's Research Fellowship within UTS to work on the project of Quantum Metasurfaces. She is working on projects related to quantum materials, particularly focusing on the fabrication of waveguides and resonators to enhance colour centre emission and integrating them on-chip. Her dedication to her field is recognised through prestigious awards such as the SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship (2021) and various travel grants, including the PicoQuant Travel Grant (2017) and the Otago Optics Chapter Travel Grant (2019).

Anastasiia is not only committed to advancing scientific knowledge but also to fostering diversity and inclusivity in academia. She actively supports women in her field, having been involved in initiatives such as 'Women in Physics' at ANU and participating in inSTEM conferences in Brisbane and Melbourne in 2022 and 2023.
