DrAndrei Herdean

As a Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney since 2019, I have played a significant role in both delivering and enhancing the educational offerings in the Faculty of Science. I have lectured in key courses such as Environmental Biotechnology and Bioreactors and Bioprocessing, where I not only provided comprehensive lectures but also spearheaded the development of laboratory practicals that integrate current industry practices and advanced technologies.

I have coordinated the Advanced Research Projects course, managing both spring and autumn sessions. My coordination efforts included overseeing curriculum updates, enhancing student assessments, and providing strong mentorship and support to both students and faculty. This role enabled me to significantly improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have been actively involved in committee work, notably as a member of the Life Sciences Honours Committee. Here, I led efforts to modernize the student evaluation process, which streamlined assessments and enhanced the educational standards of the Honours program. My commitment to academic excellence is reflected in the practical, student-centered approach I bring to both my classroom teaching and committee engagements.
