- BROADCAST OR MEDIA ENGAGEMENT24 Sep 2015The former Chairman of the US Federal Reserve, Allan Greenspan, once observed that US GDP weighs less today than it did 30 years ago. The same can probably be said of corporate balance sheets, where assets may not only be lighter, but totally missing. We will consider what evidence there of this, the extent to which intangible assets are captured in financial statements and whether the information is relevant. However, perhaps the bigger challenge is where intangible assets are missing and we will conclude by thinking about the consequences of this.
