FUNDED RESEARCH
Dr Ara Asatryan is an expert in the theoretical and computational modeling of wave propagation and scattering in periodic, random and inhomogeneous photonic structures. He has made significant contributions to the development of rigorous scattering theories in the modeling of ordered and disordered photonic crystals, random lasers, solar cells and topological photonic structures. He has made imporant contributions to the study of Anderson localization in disordered materials and metamaterials.
Dr Ara Asatryan developed semi-analytic tools for the modeling of wave propagation and radiation of sources in photonic clusters based on Bloch mode, multipole and eigenfunction expansion methods. He has constructed Green’s functions and tensors for a number of important photonic structures. For these contributions he is well recognized Internationally.
