BIO

Dr Aritra Paul is a Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), with research interests spanning optical frequency comb technologies, supercontinuum generation for Brillouin imaging and spectroscopy. Aritra received his PhD in Photonic Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India, in 2024, where his research focused on nonlinear optical fiber frequency comb generation for optical communication.

Aritra has explored the field of high-power fiber lasers, nonlinear optics, and the fabrication of fused optical fiber devices. His current research focuses on the development of optical frequency comb sources for Brillouin imaging, aimed at advancing high-resolution biomechanical imaging techniques. His broader research interests include developing high-power fiber laser systems, Brillouin imaging, nonlinear fiber and waveguide technologies for sensing, imaging, and spectroscopic applications. Aritra is also a member of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science (COMBS).
