TEACHING AND SUPERVISION
Prior to the appointment of the Future fellowship, I served as the Program Director of the Bachelor of Advanced Science course, overseeing the majors in Pre-Medicine and Pharmaceutical sciences, in the Faculty of Science.
I'm interested in cross-disciplinary approaches to teaching and learning.
Specific topics that students in my lab are trained in include:
- High-resolution fluorescence microscopy (single-molecule localization microscopies).
- Microbiology, especially morphology of Gram-negative bacteria.
- Microfluidics engineering and its use in infection model systems.
- Cell culture and infection biology.
At UTS, I have supervised to completion: 2 PhD students, 11 Masters students (5 visiting European universities), and several Honours students. I have also supervised 3 Postdoctoral Research Associates. I'm currently the primary supervisor of 3 PhD students, 2 visiting Masters student and 3 Honours students.
