BIO
Dr Chen Liu is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Computer Science at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, working with Prof Ling Chen. Her research focuses on (1) Agentic AI and (2) multimodal learning, with particular emphasis on GUI agents, audio-visual learning, and vision-language understanding. She has published nearly 30 papers in top-tier international conferences and journals, including CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ACL, Siggraph Asia, TVCG, and TMM. She also led her team to win all tracks in facial expression recognition challenges held at CVPR and ECCV, and the resulting technology has been successfully deployed in the commercial game Naraka: Bladepoint. During her PhD, she gained industry research experience at NetEase and Alibaba Tongyi Lab.
Her research is driven by the goal of bridging academic innovation and real-world deployment, with a focus on developing AI technologies that can be effectively applied in practical and industry-relevant scenarios.
Her Recent Research Focuses:
- Enterprise-Oriented Digital Agents: Developing reliable digital agents for long-horizon enterprise workflows and practical deployment in productivity and organizational systems.
- Interpretable Foundation Models for Plant Genomics: Building interpretable large models for plant genomics to support gene-function analysis, explainable biological discovery, and AI-driven agricultural applications.
- Diagnostic Analysis of Multimodal Foundation Models: Evaluating and analyzing multimodal foundation models in visual reasoning, cross-modal grounding, multi-view understanding, and interactive decision-making.
