Dr Chloé Smit is a pharmacist and Associate Lecturer in Pharmacy at the Graduate School of Health, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Her research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), One Health, sustainable healthcare, and quality use of medicines.

Her PhD examined risk factors for antimicrobial resistance in community-acquired Escherichia coli urinary tract infections, with a particular focus on geographic differences in resistance patterns. Her research experience includes pharmacoepidemiology, geospatial health analytics, the use of large healthcare datasets, and medicines safety.

Chloé’s research aims to produce evidence that can inform clinical practice and help address pressing health challenges. Her current work includes antimicrobial stewardship, sustainable healthcare, medication safety, and the use of innovative analytical approaches to improve population health.

She has received competitive internal funding through the UTS Faculty of Health Seed Funding Scheme and the UTS Early Career Researcher Capability Development Initiative. These awards support the development of her independent research program and interdisciplinary collaborations.
