BIO
Damita McGuinness is a Wiradjuri woman. She has lived and worked in Sydney her entire life and is an active member of the Sydney Metropolitan Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
She is committed to progressing education issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and thus has worked for a long time in education, in state government as well as with community education groups.
As an Indigenous Student Services Officer, Damita works closely with faculties to advocate on behalf of students at UTS. She also works with student services such as housing and special needs to ensure the best outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
