His projects have shaped energy utility, state government and energy market policy, supported major innovation programs in thousands of homes, and delivered award‑winning community initiatives. He supervises PhD students in just transitions and sustainable business models and is a frequent commentator and invited speaker at energy industry events.

His experience includes working on the NSW Government Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) solar program, consulting in planning for energy efficient building design, and advising Pacific governments on energy efficiency and renewable energy development in Fiji and Samoa.
