BIO

Dr Elyn Montgomery is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health, at the University of Technology Sydney. She is a nurse academic, clinician, and postdoctoral researcher specialising in cardiovascular health and complex chronic disease, with collaborative research and clinical links in systemic amyloidosis care.

Her research focuses on improving outcomes for people living with complex cardiovascular disease, particularly systemic amyloidosis. She has a strong interest in frailty, supportive care, and patient-centred interventions, with a focus on integrating multidimensional frailty assessment into clinical practice and developing co-designed, nurse-led models of care. Her work is interdisciplinary and translational, aiming to embed scalable, evidence-based care pathways into routine health services to improve function, quality of life, and patient-reported outcomes.

Dr Montgomery contributes to postgraduate nursing education in acute and chronic care. Her teaching emphasises clinically relevant, evidence-based learning and supports students to develop critical thinking, reflective practice, and the ability to translate research into high-quality care.

Across her research and teaching, she is committed to practical, person-centred approaches that strengthen care delivery for people with complex chronic illness.
