Helena Hassani is a human rights advocate, MA of Human Rights Law, Qualified social worker and the Founder & Executive Director of Boland Parwaz - a survivor-led organisation on a mission to end child and forced marriage (CFM) in Australia and beyond.She is a research assistant at Anti-Slavery Australia, a facilitator for men’s behaviour change programs, and host of the “Speak Now” podcast. 

Drawing on her own lived experience of CFM, Helena has dedicated most of her adult life to amplifying the voices of those most vulnerable and building solutions from the ground up, with and for the communities who need them most.

Her leadership has been recognised globally as a 2024 Women Changing the World Awards Silver Medalist, an Echoing Green Fellow, and as a Delegate to the 68th and 69th sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women. In 2023 she contributed to global policy discussions at the United Nations in Geneva, and in 2025 served as a Waratah Fellow with the Office of the NSW Anti-Slavery Commissioner.
