IMPACT SUMMARY
Kate has extensive experience in health technology assessment, both in her current role at CHERE and through her 12 years in consulting with SYNEVi and PRIMA Consulting Group. During this time, she developed and adapted more than 20 cost-effectiveness models including Markov models, partition survival models and microsimulation models which were used to support reimbursement applications to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC). Due to the confidential nature of this work, specific investigational medicinal products cannot be named; however, Kate led and/or contributed to more than 100 submissions, focused on securing timely access to medicines for patients. This included medicines to treat rare and ultra rare diseases in therapeutic areas such as oncology, haematology, immunology, metabolic disorders and central nervous system, which are all relevant to this research proposal. Successful submissions resulted in new listings on the Life Savings Drug Program (LSDP) and under the rule of rescue on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
