FUNDED RESEARCH

Chris's research interests focus on the integration of genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and bioinformatics to address key questions in plant and microbial biology. He leads projects on genome assembly and annotation in microalgae, diatoms, and reptiles, comparative genomics, gene family evolution, metabolite network analysis, and environmental DNA-based microbiome profiling. Chris applies and develops computational pipelines for high-throughput multi-omics data analysis, contributing to advances in bioenergy crop improvement, coral symbiosis, and ecological resilience.
