BIO
Dr Lauren Knussen is a researcher and lecturer in the fields of education technologies and teacher design practice. Lauren has worked as an educator across the fields of school education, vocational education and higher education for more than 20 years. She has a keen interest in teaching as design work and how contextual factors impact on teachers' practice and thinking.
Lauren completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH), where she led research projects focusing on the translation of current scientific research into education resources in schools and higher education. Lauren's work with CABAH also explores the integration of First Nations' peoples' scientific knowledge and learning pedagogies into school-based teaching and learning.
Lauren has co-authored a book on teachers' design thinking and practice with Senior Professor Sue Bennett (UOW), Professor Lori Lockyer (QUT), Professor Shirley Agostinho (UOW) and Dr Melinda Plumb (UOW). The book was published by Springer in 2025.
