BIO

Dr Lisa Billington has been a Lecturer with the UTS Faculty of Law since 2022. She teaches across two core first year subjects: Criminal Law and Procedure and Foundations of Law.

 

Lisa is an early career researcher with excellent cross-institutional collegial connections and a strong background in student-centred, practice-oriented legal education. Her primary areas of legal expertise are criminal law and procedure, criminology, foundations of law and the rights of Indigenous peoples.

 

Lisa has served as the Law Faculty Coordinator for the U@Uni Program since 2024. She has a long-standing interest in transition pedagogy and in the wellbeing aspects of tertiary legal education; in addition to her degrees in law (LLB (Hons I); PhD), Lisa holds a Graduate Diploma in Counselling (Hons). Lisa brings both legal and counselling expertise into her day-to-day student-facing work with first year law students and to support the Law Faculty's U@Uni Pathways students.
