BIO
Professor Luis Vasconcelos specialises in organisational economics, contract theory, industrial organisation, and corporate strategy.
He holds a PhD from Northwestern University, and his research explores the link between organisational design and performance. His work examines optimal management of performance measurement systems, job design choices that incentivise effort and information-sharing within organisations, and how organisations may become rigid over time, reducing adaptability.
His research has been published in leading Economics and Management journals, including the Review of Economic Studies, RAND Journal of Economics, American Economic Journal, Management Science, Games and Economic Behavior, European Economic Review, Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, Review of Finance, and the Journal of Law, Economics, & Organization.
He is currently Head of the Economics Discipline at the UTS Business School.
