BIO
Dr Madeleine English (BHmSc, BSES (Hons), PhD) is a Lecturer within the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation with a research focus on the role of physical activity and sport in promoting health equity and positive youth development. Her work is grounded in community-based, participatory approaches, exploring how physical activity and sport can serve as a catalyst for holisitic health, particularly among underrepresented populations. Madeleine's current research centres on the design and evaluation of culturally safe health promotion programs. She is a co-designer of Tidda Talk, a physical activity and social and emotional wellbeing intervention supporting young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
