Maria-Luise Ossimitz is a lecturer in accounting at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Business School, focusing on accounting information systems. . She obtained a PhD in information systems at WU Vienna (Wirtschaftsuniversitat Wien) where she also completed a Master's in Business Administration and Science (by thesis).
Before her academic career, Maria-Luise was an IT project manager in an Austrian Insurance company overseeing business process management and the implementation of SAP Enterprise Solutions and worked for SAP Austria as a Business Intelligence course developer. She also taught at WU Vienna, Victoria University and Singapore.
Maria-Luise's teaching and research areas are accounting information systems, data warehousing, data science, business intelligence and business analytics, and her research investigates the impact of Business Intelligence solutions and Big Data (Analytics) on organisations and individuals.
