FUNDED RESEARCH

My research interests result from an interest in the contribution of a robust and diverse civil society to healthy democracies.

My research has involved looking at:

  • The relationship between community-sector human service peak organisations and the NSW Government.
  • Aboriginal-led justice reinvestment initiatives in NSW that aim to get government and non-government organisations behind Aboriginal community-led agendas for change.
  • The activities of Australian civil society organisations during COVID-19 in support of people and communities.
  • Factors involved in the election of independent and minor party politicians in Australia.
  • Mutual aid and civil society activity in support of international students during COVID-19
  • The development of a framework for understanding the democratic relationships between civil society organisations and the people and communities they aim (and claim) to serve.
