I am an academic pharmacist (PharmD, PhD) with research expertise in drug discovery (including investigation of the mechanism of action), formulation, and efficacy testing of novel compounds. My research focuses upon the investigation of therapeutics targeting inflammation in chronic diseases.

I was awarded my Ph.D. (USyd) in 2013, after which I undertook a highly prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship at Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) in Germany. Upon my return to UTS in 2015, I went on to establish the first pharmaceutical formulation laboratory at UTS where I am focused on translational science - investigating novel treatments for chronic respiratory diseases.

As a consequence of the innovative quality of my research, I have been invited as speaker to more than 20 national and international seminars. The significance of my discoveries and international profile of my work is further evidenced by my track record of more than 50 peer reviewed publications involving international industry, academia and clinical collaborators. To date, my research has attracted about $200k in funding and has been highlighted in the media on several occasions.

I serve as the Deputy Convenor of 'Cell, Immunology & Molecular Biology of the Lung' group in Thoracic society of Australia and NewZealand (TSANZ), board member of International Society of Aerosol in Medicine (ISAM) and act as Editor and reviewer for a number of research journals in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
