Expertise:
My chief expertise resides in the development of decision support systems for critical risk and safety management in a range of human-made and natural environments. All projects use guiding principles from systems thinking and Bayesian networks, underpinned by data analysis and testing regimes which optimise systems for reliable real-time performance.
Most recently, I have worked on how to prevent domino-effect scenarios in bushfire risk management for residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Systems design for these contexts has involved using remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) data to design a system that can help policy-makers with long-term land-use planning and emergency safety and risk management.
