IMPACT SUMMARY
Naomi’s research focuses on helping governments, development agencies and practitioners navigate complex challenges in water, sanitation and sustainable development. Her work has produced practical frameworks and approaches that have been adopted beyond individual research projects, including a gender outcomes framework used by organisations such as WaterAid, SNV and Plan International, approaches for applying human rights principles in local government water and sanitation planning, and more recently the CIRCLE WASH framework integrating circularity, inclusion and climate resilience. Her research has informed policy development in Bhutan, contributed to planning discussions in Vietnam, and been taken up by organisations including UNICEF and the World Bank through technical guidance, learning materials and collaborative initiatives. Underpinning this impact is a commitment to transdisciplinary research that connects conceptual innovation with the realities of policy and practice.
