FUNDED RESEARCH
Associate Professor Surawski has broad research interests in resolving the transport - air quality - climate - health nexus. Current research activities are centred around:
- New energy vehicles and their fuel consumption, energy consumption and emissions performance
- Impacts of the emerging hydrogen economy on atmospheric chemistry
- Exploring physico-chemical properties of particle emissions from different sources in the environment
- Low cost sensing of urban air quality
A/Prof Surawski is currently recruiting for PhD students with interests broadly consistent with the topics mentioned above. Potential students should study recent journal publications to understand what type of work is completed in the group. Students with a strong interest in using technology to achieve sustainability outcomes, as well as working closely with instrumentation and performing high-quality data analysis and modelling will align well with the sort of research I do. A/Prof Surawski is a category 1 research supervisor at UTS and can principally supervise PhD and Masters projects. Nic has supervised five PhD students to completion at UTS.
