Dr Rebecca Dong is a lecturer in Management and the Major Coordinator for Human Resource Management (Undergraduate) at the UTS Business School. She holds a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) with AdvanceHE UK. Her research is dedicated to fostering sustainable, responsible, and psychologically safe workplaces for individuals and organisations alike. 

Rebecca’s research passion centres on the micro-foundations of organisations: the psychological and behavioural building blocks that shape how people lead, collaborate, and thrive at work. At the organisational level, she investigates responsible business that considers sustainability, environmental performance, digital transformation and AI. Rebecca has authored more than 44 high-ranking academic publications, including the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Safety Research, Business Strategy and the Environment, International Review of Economics & Finance, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Regional Studies Regional Science, Acta Psychologica, among others. Her publication has been short-listed for the 2026 Nevile-Plowman Prize for the Best Article in The Economic and Labour Relations Review. Her work has been recognised at top-tier international conferences, including the from Academy of Management (AOM), Academy of International Business (AIB), Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM), and the Association of Industrial Relations Academics of Australia and New Zealand (AIRAANZ). Her research has been recognised as the“Best Paper” (top 10%) as designated by Social Issues in Management (SIM) Division of AOM. She also contributes to the scholarly community as editor for several journals, including Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (the only Nature Journal in Social Science; SSCI Q1), Labour and Industry, and as an editorial board member of the Economic and Labour Relations Review.

Rebecca's teaching excellence has been recognised through multiple awards, including the UTS Business School Award for Teaching and Learning, Top Teacher Award and the Top Undergraduate Subject Award. She has a demonstrated teaching history since 2015, including Human Resource Management, Career Development, Managing Organisation and People, International Business, Global Business Environment, Organisational Behaviour, Cross-Cultural Management, Sustainable Management, Transformation Leadership, Advanced Management Theory, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Rebecca's educational leadership is underpinned by her publications in leading teaching and learning scholarship, including Journal of Further and Higher Education, Education + Training, Education Sciences, Education and Information Technologies and the Australian Educational Researcher. 

Outside academia, Rebecca is actively engaged in the community. She was a Finalist in the 2018 Governor's Multicultural Awards (Youth Award) in South Australia and has received the 2018 Premier's Certificate for Outstanding Volunteer Service, as well as the 2015 South Australia Governor's International Student Award for Academic Excellence.
