Sarah Kourouche is an Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney. Sarah has been an academic for over 13 years, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and Honours programs. She has over 20 years of clinical experience in emergency and critical care.
Sarah’s research focuses on improving evidence-based practice and behaviour change.

 

 

Sarah's career is defined by her commitment to integrating research into practice, improving patient care through evidence-based strategies, and mentoring the next generation of emergency nurses. As an early career researcher, she has published extensively and continues to push the boundaries of emergency nursing research, driving meaningful change in the field.

Sarah completed her PhD at the University of Sydney, investigating the implementation of a care bundle for patients with blunt chest injury in emergency departments. Her research has significantly impacted emergency care, with evidence-based interventions now embedded into policies at various hospitals, resulting in improved patient and health service outcomes. She continues to lead pioneering studies, such as the HIRAID® and EPIC-START trials, collaborating nationally to enhance emergency nursing practice and patient care.

 

Sarah has been an academic for over 13 years, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and Honours programs.
