A/ProfScott Chadwick

Associate Dean (Teaching And Learning)

Discipline of Forensic Science

BIO

Associate Professor Scott Chadwick has over 10 years experience in the development, coordination and delivery of subjects across Forensic Science and Chemistry that engage and inspire students. He has been successful in achieving team and individual teaching awards, most recently leading a team to a successful Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) citation for outstanding contributions to student learning in Forensic Science. As Associate Head of School, Scott oversees and implements strategical and operational priorities to support the disciplines of Chemistry, Forensic Science, Mathematics and Physics in the delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate and OPM offerings. Prior to this role Scott held leadership roles in teaching and learning as Director of Undergraduate Programs (2021-2022) and Program Director for the Bachelor of Forensic Science (2016-2021).

Primarily Scott’s research focuses on fingermark detection through the exploration of how new methods, substrates and evaluation methods can help improve current and future practice. Over time Scott has broadened his research team and through the application of gaining a better fundamental understanding of the trace, he now supervises projects across fingermark detection, firearms, document examination, illicit drugs and forensic intelligence.

As a core member of the Centre for Forensic Science (a research strength of UTS), Scott is able to conduct highly collaborative and impactful beneficial research for the Forensic Science community and industry partners.
