TEACHING AND SUPERVISION

  • Suhair had taught a variety of courses in the fields of both construction project management and project management (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) at The University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, University of Technology Sydney, and Asia Pacific International College.
    Suhair's teaching style is underpinned by a Socratic pedagogy which involves encouraging debate amongst students and integrating my research insights and industry connections into my teaching. As evidence below, She applies creative solutions to my teaching such as adopting problem-based learning and project-based learning approaches which offer engaging, student-centred forms of education.
    My pedagogical approach to teaching is to encourage and guide students towards self-directed learning and to engage them to develop their conceptual and technical skills through using individual projects as forms of practice. She aims to actively engage students in critical thinking, open debate, argument development, verbal and written communication, and demonstrate the application of mainstream management principles to project-based settings in the construction industry. These learning skills and subject competencies equip students for future construction industry leadership roles by encouraging and enabling them to question current industry practices and norms.
