Youming Qiao obtained his PhD in computer science from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences, Tsinghua University in 2012. His advisors were Andrew Yao and László Babai. Before that, he obtained his bachelor degree in computer science from Tsinghua University. After working as a postdoc in the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore, he joined UTS in 2014 as a lecturer, and has been a professor since May 2026.
