BIO

Ziqi Zhong is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Marketing & Analytics at UTS Business School, University of Technology Sydney, and a Visiting Professor in Digital Economics & Policy at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. His research integrates behavioural and experimental economics, causal inference, foundation models, and neuroscience to examine how new technology can be used to understand and enhance human and firm behaviour, as well as how new technology itself is transforming people, organisations, and the pursuit of a more sustainable society.

 

Ziqi's work appears in leading business and AI venues. He is a recipient of the ANZMAC Best Paper Award in the AI and Technology Track, and his research has been featured by major media outlets including MIT Technology Review and China Daily. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.

 

Ziqi has taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has been recognised with the LSE Teaching Award (Highly Commended, Inspiring Teaching). He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

 

Ziqi collaborates extensively with industry partners to design and run large-scale field experiments on topics including sustainable behaviour and human-robot interaction. He also serves as an External Research Scientist in Computational Behavioural Science and Neuroscience at NetEase Games.

 

Ziqi completed his PhD and MRes in Quantitative Marketing at the London School of Economics (LSE) as a Lee Family PhD Scholar. He also holds a BEng in Cyber Security from the Cisco School of Informatics, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Beyond academia, he was the first Chinese national to hold dual Master Instructor certifications in both freediving and scuba diving in Europe.
