Alireza Ahmadian Fard Fini

Associate Professor

SoA&B Discipline of Construction Project Management

BIO

Alireza has over 23 years of experience in the construction industry encompassing various roles in professional practice, teaching and research. His main focus is to improve construction productivity through two areas of research: construction automation and workforce management.

In construction automation, Alireza works on industrializing building projects by investigating off-site construction processes and integrating digital technologies in onsite processes. For workforce management, his research focuses on finding personalized solutions for skill level development and safety of construction workers.

Alireza has received competitive funding for his research in both areas. Collaborating closely with industry partners is a top priority for him to ensure practical and commercially valuable outcomes. For example, he has been leading commercialization of a new prefabricated timber system for low-rise building projects, which has been in high demand in the market.

Moreover, he has been working on applying data analytics and mathematical modelling to construction processes. This type of research relies on raw data, imagery, and statistics obtained from construction projects that can be converted into usable data for strategic decision making.
