Chris is a researcher with the Faculty of Health. She has worked on a range of qualitative and quantitative studies, and has long-standing experience in research design, implementation, analysis and systematic reviews.

For the Centre for Midwifery Child and FamilyHealth, Chris has contributed to research on incarcerated parents, midwifery workplace culture, outcomes for preterm infants and the NHMRC-funded Birthplace in Australia study. She has also undertaken studies on responses to domestic violence in hospital emergency departments, infant feeding practices and health interventions for new graduate nurses. With the Centre for Health Service Management, Chris has examined studies of patient safety for vulnerable indivduals and population groups, and studies of infection prevention and control measures in residential aged care settngs. She is currently Research Officer on the Group Clinical Supervision for Midwives program. 

 

She is currently Project Officer at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing, Midwifery & Health Development at UTS, working on programs to strengthen nursing and midwifery practice and leadership in Pacific Island Countries.


Chris is an experienced writer and editor, and is committed to communicating research results clearly and accessibly. She has co-authored 60 peer-reviewed articles in high-ranking journals including International Nursing Review, Nurse Education Today, Women & Birth, Maternal & Child Nutrition, BMJ Open and Midwifery.
