MsChris Rossiter

Chris is a researcher with the Faculty of Health. She has worked on a range of qualitative and quantitative studies, and has long-standing experience in research design, implementation, analysis, project management and systematic reviews.

She is currently Project Officer at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing, Midwifery & Health Development at UTS, working on research and capacity building programs to strengthen nursing and midwifery practice and leadership in Pacific Island Countries.

For the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Chris has contributed to research on midwifery clinical supervision, incarcerated parents, midwifery workplace culture, outcomes for preterm infants and the NHMRC-funded Birthplace in Australia study. She has also undertaken studies on responses to domestic violence in hospital emergency departments, infant feeding practices and health interventions for new graduate nurses. She managed the evaluation of the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nursing program. For the School of Public Health, Chris has examined studies of patient safety for vulnerable individuals and population groups, the role of environmental health officers, and studies of infection prevention and control measures in residential aged care settings. 

Chris is an experienced writer and editor, and is committed to communicating research results clearly and accessibly. She has co-authored 60 peer-reviewed articles in high-ranking journals including International Nursing Review, Nurse Education Today, Women & Birth, Maternal & Child Nutrition, BMJ Open and Midwifery.
