BIO
Dr Jody Church is a Research Fellow at CHERE. Jody is an experienced researcher in health economics and has a demonstrated track record as an evaluator for the Pharmaceutical and Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC). She has conducted numerous economic evaluations in a variety of medical conditions, including falls prevention, smoking cessation, hearing loss, esophageal cancer, colonic stents and cardiac disease. She also has experience in conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Prior to CHERE, Jody worked at the OECD on projects about medical workforce migration and obesity. Most recently Jody has focused her research on the economics of obesity, including involvement in discrete choice experimental design and implementation. This research has also involved the use and understanding of longitudinal datasets and econometric analysis techniques. Jody is also currently conducting multiple DCEs for the Health Economics working group of a NHMRC funded research program focusing on preconception care, contraception, and medical abortion. Jody’s research interests are in discrete choice experiments, health technology assessment and applied econometrics.
