BIO
I have a PhD, Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Polymer engineering with eighteen years of research and industrial experience. I am competent in product development and industrial process standardization having successfully upscaled several polymer-based products. My doctoral thesis was on the development of microwave absorbing conducting polymer composites for stealth applications. Post PhD, I moved to industry and worked in core technology development at R&D centres of AkzoNobel, Global Institute of Intellectual Property, Sriram Institute of Industrial Research and Era Polymers.
Presently working as Senior Scientific Officer (Polymer Chemist) at Climate Change Cluster. My work focuses on the design and development of green and biodegradable polymers/products from micro and macroalgae.
RESEARCH PROJECTS COMPLETED
New biodegradable polyurethane system, CSIRO Melbourne & Era Polymers
Development and commercialization of advanced water-based polyurethane timber flooring products – Era Polymers
Design and upscaling of solvent-based concrete and timber flooring products – Era Polymers
Development of low emission water-based primer for automotive refinish system - AkzoNobel
Thermoplastic conducting polymer composites for microwave applications- Defense Research and Development Organization, India.
Optimization of tyre bead insulation compound using DoE- Apollo Tyres, India
Wood Filled PP composites by extrusion for the construction industry- Amrita University, India
Solution dipping of butyl rubber compound for gauntlets- Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, India
Silica-Phenolic composites for rocket nozzle ablator layer- Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, India
Invited Review Editor
