As an experienced and highly skilled senior research manager, Linda Brown has been merging interests in governance, strategy, and clinical research for over twenty years. Linda commenced in the role of Director, Translational Research, Clinical Trials, Strategic Projects and Response at Safer Care Victoria, the safety and quality arm of the Victorian Department of Health, in February 2024. She has high level communication skills and engages with a myriad of stakeholders, researchers and investigators located in Victoria, across Australia and around the globe.

Prior to this role Linda was the National Manager of two national member based clinical trial collaboratives housed at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS): the Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) and Cancer Symptom Trials (CST). In this role Linda worked with the board and scientific committees to operationalise the PaCCSC & CST strategic plans and ensure members received the support they needed to successfully design and run their clinical trials. She managed dozens of clinical research projects; liaised with many different funding partners; and managed a variety of capacity building activities. Linda provided direction and oversight of the operations of the IMPACCT Trials Coordination Centre (ITCC) to conduct multi-site Phase 2, 3 & 4 clinical trials. In 2022 Linda added the role of Coordinator of the IMPACCT Consumer Advisory Group to her role.

Prior to 2012, Linda was the Research Program Manager for the supportive and palliative care team at Queensland University of Technology. She also worked for seven years in a chartered accounting firm in a dedicated health team providing business consulting, risk management and internal audit services.

Linda holds a Master of Business (Professional Accounting), a Bachelor of Business (Management) and a Certificate IV in Project Management.
