Dr Lisa-Angelique Lim is a Lecturer at UTS's Connected Intelligence Centre, within the Education Portfolio under the PVC (Education & Students). With a background spanning psychology and education, Lisa completed her PhD exploring the intersection between learning analytics and educational psychology, specifically focusing on automated feedback systems. This interdisciplinary foundation now informs her current research into how automated technologies can leverage learning analytics and AI to gain critical insights into student engagement—especially belonging—while delivering personalised support that genuinely enhances the student experience.

Lisa 's expertise in automated, personalized feedback directly supports CIC's mission to help academics discover innovative ways to enhance learning through data-driven insights. This work has achieved notable recognition, earning her multi-disciplinary team a Student Experience (Highly Commended) award at the 2025 UTS Learning and Teaching Awards Ceremony. She also translates this expertise into practice through her teaching in the Graduate Certificate for Learning Design, where she focuses on the practical aspects learning analytics for educators.

Lisa’s strong publication record in top-tier journals and peer-reviewed conference venues reflects her commitment to advancing learning analytics and the learning sciences. Beyond research, Lisa serves the academic community as both program committee member and reviewer for international conferences including The International Learning Analytics and Knowledge conference, and has served as an executive member for the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR), chairing the Early Career Grants working group.

Lisa’s overall mission is to see every student thrive in their studies, with the support of human-centred learning analytics and AI technologies. In working toward this vision, Lisa has built strong research partnerships with both global and national collaborators.
