BIO
Roberto Buonamano has research interests in the fields of legal and political philosophy, the theory and history of rights, human rights jurisprudence, and constitutional theory. He teaches in the areas of International Human Rights Law, Australian Constitutional Law, and Criminal Law and Procedure.
He has published primarily in the fields of legal and political theory, through readings of Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault and Louis Althusser, among others. Current areas of interest include the application of continental philosophy to human rights, hermeneutical methods within human rights jurisprudence, and theories of democracy and constitutionalism.
