Sonika Singh

BIO

Sonika Singh is a Senior Lecturer at UTS Business School and currently serves as PhD program lead at the Business Intelligence & Data Analytics (BIDA) Centre. She has previously served as Director, UTS’s Marketing Postgraduate Programs. Sonika holds a PhD in Management Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, specializing in advanced econometric and Bayesian modeling.

 

Sonika’s work is published in globally ranked journals and regularly presented at prestigious international marketing conferences. Her research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Retailing, Journal of Retailing & Consumer Services, Customer Needs and Solutions, and Higher Education Development and Research. She has received several accolades, including the UTS Learning and Teaching Team Citation Award (2020), recognition on the Top Teaching List (2023), the Dean’s Strategic Research Grant (2022), and the Social Impact Grant (2023). 

 

Her extensive research portfolio covers critical business challenges in consumer information search behavior, digital literacy and data privacy, AI-driven consumer insights, sustainability, pricing & promotion strategies, consumer choice and customer segmentation. Sonika's research uses mixed methodologies including quantitative modeling, experiments and survey studies.

 

She possesses extensive prior industry experience in market research with Sandvik Asia, Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., and Premier Automobiles. Sonika integrates her research expertise and industry insights into her teaching of Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, and Customer Analytics courses. Her past academic roles include teaching positions at the University of Texas at Dallas, IIM-Indore, and Symbiosis Institute in India.

 

Passionate about driving positive societal change, Sonika actively engages in community initiatives through research projects addressing digital transformation and effective messaging for non-profits. She currently serves on UTS BUS Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion committee.
