BIO

Md Subbir Reza is a PhD researcher in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). His research focuses on the optimal design, sizing, and energy management of hydrogen-based hybrid energy systems for hydrogen refuelling stations and community loads, with the aim of supporting Australia's transition towards a net-zero energy future. His work integrates renewable energy systems, hydrogen technologies, optimisation algorithms, artificial intelligence, and techno-economic analysis to develop sustainable and reliable energy solutions.

His research expertise includes renewable energy integration, hydrogen energy systems, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, energy management strategies, metaheuristic optimisation algorithms, machine learning, deep learning, and data-driven forecasting. He has extensive experience in MATLAB-based modelling and simulation, optimisation algorithm development, techno-economic assessment, and intelligent control of sustainable energy systems.

Before joining UTS, he completed a Master of Electrical Engineering (by Research) at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, where he conducted research on battery remaining useful life prediction using optimised deep learning algorithms under uncertainty. He also served as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh, where he was involved in laboratory instruction and undergraduate student mentoring.

He has authored numerous publications in leading international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Journal of Energy Storage, Technology in Society, Energy Reports, and IEEE Access. His research has primarily focused on battery energy storage systems, hydrogen and renewable energy technologies, intelligent optimisation, and artificial intelligence applications in sustainable energy systems. He actively collaborates with researchers from Australia, Malaysia, and Bangladesh and has presented his work at international IEEE conferences.
