BIO

Mona Chiha is a PhD Researcher at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, where her research sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data science, and legal theory. She is the founder and CEO of JurisTechne, the world's first ethical and explainable AI (XAI) platform built specifically for law, and the originator of the Algorithmic Legal Framework™ (ALF), a jurisdiction-agnostic architecture that fuses data science, legal reasoning, and trustworthy AI governance into a single, coherent system.

Mona's academic journey is grounded in her extensive professional experience as a former litigation funder, entrepreneur, and technologist. A graduate of the UTS Master of Business Administration (Technology Stream), she brings rare depth to her research, combining hands-on knowledge of litigation finance and legal risk with rigorous computational and ethical AI expertise.

Her work has attracted significant recognition, including the UTS AI Accelerator Grant, and has earned her a position as one of Australia's leading voices on the responsible adoption of AI in high-stakes legal environments.
