BIO
Rachael Woodworth is a Lecturer in Midwifery at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and a Registered Nurse and Midwife with over 10 years of clinical experience. She is currently completing her PhD at UTS, focusing on optimising freedom of movement and bodily autonomy for women using intrapartum fetal surveillance (IFS) technologies. Her research explores midwives' perspectives on how these different technologies influence women's ability to move freely and maintain autonomy during labour.
Rachael is actively involved in several research projects, including the Australian INTERSECT study. She is also a member of the Publicly Funded Homebirth Consortium and the Collective for Midwifery, Child, and Family Health at UTS. Passionate about education, she is committed to equipping the next generation of midwives with the skills and knowledge needed to provide woman-centred care. She teaches across both undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery programs at UTS.
