BIO
Dr Virender Sorout is a clinician, healthcare executive and doctoral researcher whose work centres on clinical governance, healthcare leadership and evidence-informed management. His research at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) explores how governance, organisational capability and digital innovation can strengthen healthcare quality, patient safety and organisational performance.
As Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Kishan Singh Hospital, Dr Sorout integrates research with executive practice, leading strategy, clinical governance, quality improvement and digital transformation. His work focuses on translating research into practical solutions that improve organisational performance and patient outcomes.
His research interests include clinical governance, healthcare leadership, patient safety, quality improvement, digital health, artificial intelligence in healthcare, organisational resilience and rural health systems. He is particularly interested in developing governance models that enable healthcare organisations to deliver safe, equitable and sustainable care despite workforce and resource constraints.
Drawing on multidisciplinary training in medicine, health services management and organisational leadership, Dr Sorout's long-term research aims to advance learning health systems and governance frameworks that support resilient, high-performing healthcare organisations and inform healthcare policy and practice.
