Tim Paine has been teaching since 2001 in the subjects of Torts, Advanced Torts, Remedies, Advanced Remedies, Evidence, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Civil Procedure and Foundations of Law, and has taught across four Sydney Universities - UTS, Macquarie, Western Sydney and Law Extension Committee (Sydney Uni).

Tim co-authored the Australian Torts Reporter with Dr Leonie Star in the early 1980s and his student text, LexisNexis Questions & Answers: Torts, is now in its 6th edition (2023). He is also the original author of the Workers Compensation subtitle in Westlaw's The Laws of Australia and has contributed the torts entries to the Concise Legal Dictionary (LexisNexis) for its last four editions, including the forthcoming 7th edition.
