Walter Jarvis is a Senior Lecturer and researcher whose work centres on responsible leadership, the stewardship of public trust, and the pedagogical conditions needed to restore legitimacy to business and higher education. His current research explores how public-facing, moral-relational judgment can be cultivated through postgraduate education—especially in contexts marked by conflicts of values and interests.

He is currently developing scholarly contributions for top-ranking journals that reframe business education as a site of civic formation, grounded in a triadic philosophical framework integrating Arendt, Vico, and Kant (ArViKa), and deepened through engagement with Max Scheler’s value theory and Iain McGilchrist’s hemispheric research on attention.

Walter brings over 30 years of experience in general management and consulting with local and global enterprises, alongside postgraduate qualifications in adult education and leadership formation. He designs and teaches across subjects in responsible leadership, corporate governance, value discernment, and integrity in business-in-society education.

He is also leading the development of a Group-based Oral Assessment (GbIOA) model within the UTS MBA program, supported by a forthcoming phenomenological axiology research project that explores student experiences of intersubjectivity, moral difficulty, and civic judgment.

Walter is widely respected by students and colleagues for fostering reflective, dialogical learning environments that support civic maturity and critical discernment. He is recognised as an early and principled adopter of generative AI in higher education—championing Qreframer, a collaborative writing methodology designed to uphold Responsible Academic Author (RAA) standards and rebuild trust in Higher Education as a public good.
