With over 12 years of experience in academia and a strong professional background, Julien has become known for his expertise in Teaching and Learning (T&L), particularly in the area of entrepreneurship within a transdisciplinary context.

Before transitioning to academia, Julien worked for a decade as an innovation consultant with companies like Capgemini, E&Y, and Telstra, where he promoted, sold, and implemented innovative solutions. He also established several businesses, ranging from smartphone application development to startup coaching, bringing a wealth of industry experience to his academic roles.

Julien’s journey in higher education has spanned various institutions, including an eight-year tenure with the Management Discipline Group at UTS. His teaching and coordination skills have been honed through the design of innovative, student-centered curricula and his commitment to academic leadership. His PhD research focused on the lived experiences of student entrepreneurs, directly influencing his pedagogical approach and resulting in the creation of three complementary subjects and a Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Honours course. His scholarly work has been published in collaboration with peers, reflecting his dedication to integrating research with teaching.

Currently, Julien is contributing to the development of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre at UTS, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the T&L experience. His involvement extends beyond teaching to shaping the research agenda, ensuring alignment with emerging needs in entrepreneurship education. As a member of the TD AI working group, he is at the forefront of adapting T&L strategies to harness the transformative potential of Generative AI, showcasing his proactive approach to integrating advanced methodologies into educational practices.

Julien has also made significant contributions to program design for private colleges, creating comprehensive bachelor programs that blend online and in-person learning to meet industry demands. His experience includes coordinating the MBA capstone project at AIB, where he managed 15 to 30 lecturers per term, ensuring consistent delivery and assessment through regular meetings and moderation sessions. As Head of the Business Faculty at Macleay College, Julien oversaw over 40 lecturers across two states, organized monthly training sessions to share best teaching practices, and ensured compliance with TEQSA licensing requirements. His leadership fostered an inclusive environment, demonstrated through initiatives like mastermind sessions that promoted collaborative learning and social impact.

Dedicated to enhancing the learning experience, Julien continues to experiment with and refine innovative T&L practices, particularly in entrepreneurship education within a transdisciplinary framework.
